2nd Post

Before the Beatles landed in America, the people were used to the rock n' roll era; or so they thought. The U.S. was accustomed to the sounds of Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix. Some, such as Elvis, mixed in a little bit of country and R&B. Rock n' Roll quickly became a genre of music praised by thousands of fans across the nation. But, however adored these artists were, none can truly compare to the Beatles. When the Beatles came to America on February 7, 1964, music junkies everywhere were swept into the psychedelic aura.

This whole blogging business will be about the Beatles and what made them such a hit band. I'm going to write about how things were before they invaded the U.S., what happened when they came over and what style they had that was so different from the norm. I'll also write about certain lyrics such as the controversial ones to 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' (aka LSD) and the deep meanings to others such as 'A Day in the Life'.
